2nd Annual 15s Rugby Tournament
Hosted by the Wisconsin Scottish, the Milwaukee Westside Harlequins RFC, and Marquette University RFC.
September 1st and 2nd, 2007 in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
22 teams competed in the 2nd Annual Wisconsin Highland Games tournament at the Waukesha Expo Center over Labor Day weekend. The tournament included 4 teams in the Senior Men's division and 6 teams in the HS Girls division on Saturday, and 6 teams each in the Collegiate Women's and the Collegiate Men's divisions on Sunday. Special thanks go out to the many senior and collegiate women players who filled in for the late cancellation in the Collegiate Women's division.
Congratulations to Catholic Memorial for winning the High School Girls' division, the UW Milwaukee Lady Panthers for winning the Collegiate Women's division, the Marquette Men for winning the Collegiate Men's division, and the Milwaukee Westside Harlequins for winning the Senior Men's division. The Lady Panthers, Marquette Men, and Harlequins are repeat winners from 2006. All winning teams received a tournament champion plaque, and their team names will be engraved on each of the divisional traveling trophies, Scottish Claymores, that they hold for the year. If any team wins 3 straight championships, they get to keep the sword courtesy of the Wisconsin Scottish.
We hope to post advance scheduling information for the 2008 Wisconsin Highland Games in the near future. Please register early (not rugby time) because all schedules and rosters must be finalized one week prior to the tournament. Thanks to all who participated and we hope to see you again next year!
